- Hideo Itami def. Bull Dempsey via Pinfall
A bit of a mismatch, but their performance was decent enough to look past that. Pretty good showing on both ends.
- Sin Cara and Kalisto def. Tye Dillinger and Jason Jordan via Pinfall
Although The Lucha Dragons are always fun to watch, this match mostly served as a starting point to a feud between Tye Dillinger and Jason Jordan.
- Baron Corbin def. Tye Dillinger via Pinfall
Just Baron doing what he does best, run through the competition.
- Becky Lynch def Bayley via Submission
A nice match between the two that ended with a brutal arm bar submission.
- Finn Balor def. Brian Kendrick via Pinfall
The Brian Kendrick’s return was hyped up throughout the show. And despite losing to Balor, he was part of the best match of the night.
They can’t always be winners, but at least NXT has consistency with the type of product they release. Aside from being shorter than usual, I feel like this episode suffered more from the booking than anything else. The show wasn’t awful, it just didn’t have enough matches that I actually wanted to see. But regardless of that, the ending between Owens and Balor after Owens attacks Riley was intense. A great way to build toward the two facing each other in the future.
