After making a brief appearance in season one with his face obscured, and contacting Kara through text messaging and other forms of communication, Superman will make a proper appearance in the first two episodes of Supergirl’s second season set to premiere on The CW. News on casting has yet to be released, but it’s certain that Henry Cavill, whom is currently portraying the big screen adaptation of the character, will not be reprising his role for the television show. It was made clear by the showrunners that they still consider the DC cinematic universe and television universe completely separate. So a new actor will take on the role once the Girl of Steel makes her debut on her new home network.

Fans are already hoping for the return of Tom Welling as Clark Kent, but it’s too early to seriously speculate casting. There’s also the question of how the presence of Superman will affect the show. So far, he has only been announced for the first two episodes, but that could change in the future. So we’ll have to wait and see what the new season has in store for both the Girl and Man of Steel.
